General remarks	The project site is located in the center of Tripoli, approximately 650 m southwest of the historic center with the ancient medina (old town) and less than one kilometer from the coast. Measuring 8,260 sqm, the project site is located on one major traffic radial road of Tripoli, Al Mari Street, leaving the city center and moving to the south. The other three streets delimiting the project site are: Tariq Ben Zaid Street (to the east), Ebn Uniss (to the north) and Ebn Jazla Street (to the south). Currently the site is divided in two plots, divided by Ebn At Tabib Street. The area of the competition site was historically part of the “Tuesday market” (Suk al Thalat Al Gadeem) and part of a service area in the back of the Italian quarter. The site is currently undeveloped and has been used as public parking lot until today.
